Rabies is serious business! Vaccine is effective and cheap. I will go out on a limb and say the chances are slim that your animal will catch the deadly virus, but why take the chance? The odds of getting into a wreck on your way to work are slim too, but does that mean you shouldn't wear your seatbelt? The answer is NO! The message is clear....wear your seat belt and get your dog's Rabies vaccine.
A Rabies vaccine, at Leesburg Animal Hospital is $17. In addition to the $17 there is an additional $3 County Health Department fee. For this total of $20, you get the vaccine and a Rabies tag with a number assigned to it. This tag serves two purposes. First, it lets people know this animal has been vaccinated for Rabies. Secondly, it is an identification tag. The number on the front is assigned to only your pet. If he is lost, the rescuers of the pet can call our office and we can look up that number in our computer system. If it is not an animal who has been vaccinated at Leesburg Animal Hospital, we can tell you what veterinarian has been assigned that number and point them in the right direction to having that pet returned safely to his home. In addition to all that, we will engrave on the back of the tag the name, address, and telephone number to help in the rescue effort. And to top it all off, if your dog is wearing a collar when he comes in our office, we will gladly secure the tag to his collar.
What more can you ask for? How much easier can we make it? So now you have NO excuse to not get your family pet vaccinated! Go on...get 'er done!! (or him)
