I am missing my normal daily routine, but I am also loving the time I have with my baby girl. Being a mommy has completely changed my life. I do plan to return to work, but this time with her right now is so important to me. I appreaciate everyone's well wishes, messages, support and patience. I know the girls up at the office have it under control. Just be patient with them; it is hard when the whole crew is not there, but I am sure they will take care of all the hairy family members.
Well, our baby girl finally made it here! She is three weeks old today. I had planned to have a post sooner, but things have really changed around here! Our baby girl, now known as Wallace Anne, was born August 8 at 6:59 pm. She weighed in at 7.7 pounds and was 19.5 inches long. Labor was long, 13 hours to be exact, but it was worth it! Many have asked how we came up with her name and the truth is, it has family history. My grandfather, whom I was very close to and passed away my first year of vet school, was named Wallace. Anne is my and my mother's middle name, so we put the two together and will call her Wallace Anne. She has quickly become the apple of my and her daddy's eye!
